Keira Knightley wore an old dress, Matt Damon married at City Hall and the other low-cost celeb nuptials

Splurge on their Big Day? No thanks! These A-listers got married without the price tag

CELEBRITIES usually go all out on their Big Day.

Think expensive designer dresses, hoards of A-list guests and multimillion pound parties.

Not for these stars though, who shunned their millionaire status in favour of an extremely humble affair.

The damage £700 on a marriage licence, clothes and a priest

This couple splashed a modest £700 on their 2009 nuptials, despite having a joint bank balance of around £38million.

Although Bali sounds super-romantic, the Hollywood pair got married in rather yucky circumstances.

Actress Anna confessed: “We were suffering from food poisoning – the really rough kind. I was looking for broth on the room service menu and saw the hotel also did weddings.”

Jurassic World star Chris suggested they get married, so a priest did it on the beach.

Cue Bali wedding daydreaming (minus the dodgy stomach)…

The damage £107 on a marriage licence

She may have voiced Princess Anna in Frozen, but Kristen’s 2013 wedding to actor Dax was far from a Disney fairy tale.

The pair turned up at the courthouse to get a marriage licence, and an employee offered to marry them on the spot.

Afterwards, Kristen and her beau were given a cake with the words “World’s Worst Wedding” on it.

How, er, romantic.

The damage £20 on a marriage licence

It’s no surprise this down-to-earth couple started off with low-key nuptials.

Matt, who has an estimated net worth of £68million, wed his bartender wife at City Hall in 2005, with Luciana’s daughter from a previous relationship, Alexia, as the only witness.

There are no reports of an elaborate reception to follow (maybe they got a Chinese takeaway?).

The damage £500 on a marriage licence and car hire

OK, it was in Provence, but considering actress Keira is worth around £30million it’s still pretty budget.

The 2013 ceremony was attended by 11 people and took just 30 minutes before the happy couple were whisked away in a (slightly grubby) Renault Clio.

Keira kept things simple by wearing a Chanel dress she already owned teamed with pumps.

Admittedly, they then hosted their 50-guest reception at Keira’s parents’ £3million vineyard and probably spent a big whack on catering – we doubt they ordered KFC.

The damage £70 on a marriage license

Actress Jessica got hitched to film producer Cash – who she met on the set of Fantastic Four - in the same place as Kristen Bell back in 2008.

Apparently, Jessica styled her hair in a super simple ponytail and wore a normal blue dress. It all sounds very fuss free.

Jessica was also eight months pregnant with their daughter at the time, so the newlyweds waited another nine months until they hosted a wedding reception at their Beverley Hills home so their daughter, Honor Marie, now eight, could also attend. Cute!
