You can now find porn stars that look like people you know using facial recognition
Is this a step too far or a glimpse into the future of porn?
A BIZARRE new trend allows internet users to find porn stars that look like people they know.
Explicit webcam website Megacams provides visitors with a personalised experience by filtering results to match the people they’re attracted to.
Facial recognition software links the image of the person you know to a porn star who looks visually similar.
This allows users to submit snaps of celebrities or acquaintances to find a doppelganger performer.
But is this new feature a bit too creepy?
The new software can cause users to become confused between fantasy and reality.
It can also involve using people’s photos without their permission, and getting sexual satisfaction out of the explicit results.
When asked Megacams whether or not personalised porn could be damaging, a spokesperson revealed that people would fantasise regardless.
They said: “If men want to get off on this girl, they would do it also with a regular Facebook picture.”
The spokesperson was also asked whether using someone’s photos without their consent was unethical.
Dodging any responsibility, they responded: “The matter if this is ethical or not is our call, it’s up to the user using it.”
It’s not the first sex trend to cause a stir this year.
In August, an adult fair in Hong Kong revealed what sex could be like in the future.
The Asian Adult Expo was filled with life-like silicone dolls, virtual reality headsets, X-rated clothing and a host of fetish devices.
Visitors flocked around realistic plastic figurines and men were photographed checking out the varying sizes, colours and physical proportions.
Each silicone toy is realistic in terms of weight and height, with the tallest measuring 140 centimetres high.
The expo also featured virtual reality games, which stimulate sexual scenarios.
After the user places the headset on, a video plays of a female anime character waiting on a bed in a hotel room.
