Kate Middleton vs Sophie Gregoire Trudeau – Duchess of Cambridge’s wins outfit crown on day 2 of Canada royal tour
We take a look at the ladies' outfits on day two of the tour
Kate and Wills landed in Canada this weekend, bringing with them their two adorable children, an large entourage and the eyes of the world.
Kate is no stranger to having her wardrobe analysed but for those who keep her company, the scrutiny will certainly add some additional pressure.
For Canada’s first lady Sophie Gregoire Trudeau the comparisons are an inevitable side effect of the royal tour.
The ex- TV presenter and wife of Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has no doubt been conscious of the need to “step up her game” as the Princess brings a careful curated wardrobe showcasing the best of both Canadian and British designers.
On the first day of the tour the fash pack were siding with Kate’s chic maple leaf hat and royal blue dress combo over Sophie’s slim fitting purple dress and felt hat which came under criticism.
But how did the pair fair on day two of the Canada Royal Tour 2016?
The women toured around Vancouver visiting charities with their husbands, sporting strikingly similar ensembles each selecting hues of red.
Sophie opted for a wine coloured A-line frock by Tanya Taylor which just covered her knees with drop earrings and a pair of suede heels.
Kate chose an intricately designed dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, the designer who also made her wedding dress.
She paired the porcelain effect gown with a matching red clutch and heels.
Unfortunately for the first lady, the general consensus is that Kate has managed to pit her to the post in round two.
Don’t feel too bad Sophie, we wouldn’t want to take on Kate either.
