Meet the woman who cancelled her £6,000 dream wedding just weeks before her big day… because a PSYCHIC told her to
Lisa Manso initially didn't take the advice of the medium
MOST brides experience a slight attack of the nerves in the run up to their big day - but it's less normal to nip to a PSYCHIC for a second opinion on your intended.
That's what Lisa Manso did though, and even more amazingly she ditched her fiance with her three weeks to go on the advice of the medium... even though she'd planned her £6,000 ceremony in painstaking detail.
"When she told me I shouldn’t get married my jaw dropped. I was stunned. I hadn’t said a word about the wedding," the 28-year-old explained.
“But she said fate had other plans for me – that my wedding was supposed to come later without all the frills."
Lisa had been due to marry her childhood sweetheart Michael, who she first met when she was 13.
The legal secretary from Hyde, Cheshire, and Michael dated for six months, but things ended when his family moved away.
Nine years later they met again after Michael got in touch with her uncle, and cupid struck.
By then Lisa was 22 and and a single mum to Leah, now 11, Jade, 10, and son Ashley, eight.
"It felt like destiny and I was determined not to mess up after losing him once," she said.
Michael was only too happy to accept her kids, and in December 2010 he popped the question.
She was thrilled and quickly started putting plans in place, with the pair deciding to wed in September 2013.
"I wanted it to be a huge celebration," Lisa said.
“I booked a five-star hotel then went dress shopping and picked a beautiful white gown with a bow on the side and layers of silk and chiffon.”
The gown cost £800 and all in the pair planned to lavish £6,000 on their dream day.
Despite all this, Lisa had niggling doubts about her life. She's always dreamed of being a model-and-actress, and she decided to go to a psychic for advice.

On the advice of a pal she visited Yvonne Rae for a palm reading, but she didn't tell anyone else she was going as she didn't want to seem "mad".
"I hadn’t told her anything about me – that I was due to get married, nothing," Lisa explained, adding she even took off her engagement ring first.
"I didn’t want to give her any hints.
"I was suddenly terrified of what she might say as she looked at my palm.
“She started off saying ‘I look into your eyes and you are destined for big things. All I can see is flashing cameras and you standing on red carpet’.
"I thought ‘Oh that’s so lovely.'
“But then she simply announced that the wedding wouldn’t go ahead. My jaw dropped! I was stunned.
“Mrs Rae must have seen the shock on my face because she told me it wasn’t a bad thing, that fate had other plans and that my real wedding, when it happened, would be small and intimate.”
At first Lisa dismissed the comments. but then they played on her mind.
She stopped discussing the wedding, and then two weeks later she told Michael she couldn't go ahead with it.
He was devastated and Lisa agreed to push the wedding back a few months, to Valentine's Day, to give her time to think.
But in the end she realised Michael wasn't the right guy for her.
Although it was upsetting, Lisa is in no doubt that she made the right decision.
She not models - and even trashed her wedding gown on a shoot last year.
"I had so much fun wrecking it in the woods! At least it got used for something!" she said.
Lisa's been back to her trusty psychic too, and got the welcome news last July that she'd find love again.
Once again Yvonne came up trumps, as the mum met Paul Lane, 50, in August and is blissfully happy.
Lisa's in good company too, as it's been claimed Brad Pitt knew his marriage to Angelina Jolie would break down two years ago after his psychic told him.
