Rescue dogs pull the funniest faces as they’re offered treats in adorable photoshoot

The happy pups' hilarious photos took a lot of attempts to perfect - but are so heartwarming there's no question it was worth the effort

THESE smiling snaps show the moment a group of happy hounds give their cheesiest grin after being offered a treat.

The joyful expressions of the dogs were caught on camera by 46-year-old Manuela Kulpa - after many attempts.

The posing pooches include a Flat Coated Retriever, French Bulldog, Bernese Mountain Dog, and an American Bull terrier.

The majority of the cheery mutts come from animal shelters and Manuela wanted to show off the beauty of the dogs and their expressions.

Manuela lives near Cologne, Germany with her husband Stefan, 55 and the pair have been taking photos together for eight years.

She said: “I love the dogs’ expressions. They remind us with their cheerfulness how important it is to enjoy the moment.”

She explained how to get the perfect snap: “We have to sit very close in front of the dog, throw the treat and then try to synchronise the treat catching with the triggering of the camera.

She said the snaps seem like they should be easy to take - but actually they involve a lot of effort as pooches have short attention spans and it's difficult to time the shot right quickly enough

“It sounds simple but sometimes you need 80 or more trials to catch that one perfect moment.

“It’s hard to keep the dog in front of you longer than 30 minutes.

She added: “My husband and I have been photographing together for eight years, and we hope our pictures show the beauty of animals.”
