'My dogs think I'm their servant'

Meet the pooch-mad woman who spends 17k giving her pets spa days and steak nights and even walks them in a PUSHCHAIR

THE dog lover appears on Anne Robinson's Britain with her pampered pooches who wear pearls and dresses and travel in style

A DOG mad woman who calls her house a “Pet Palace” spends up to £17,000 a year treating her six pooches like “Princes and Princess.”

Eva, who features on Anne Robinson’s Britain this week, gives the dogs spa days, treats their paws with special balm and cooks them the best steaks every Friday.

At walk time she dresses them up in expensive outfits and they even wear PEARL NECKLACES as well as gem-stoned collars.

And most of the dogs are wheeled in a PUSHCHAIR rather than actually walking themselves.

The dog lover, from Stevenage, calls her house her “Pet Palace” and says her dogs are waited on hand and foot.

She said: “Our dogs are treated like Royalty. The Prince and Princesses who live here all live a very indulgent lifestyle.

“I would do anything for our FURBABIES.

“They are my family, they are my soulmates, my heart.

“I kiss them every day to make sure they know I love them.”

She added: “They think I am their servant but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

“They are my heart, my world.”

In the BBC1 show Eva gets a visit from retired city banker Richard, who lives in Devon with his five working dogs.

Eva took him to the salon where her six ‘furbabies’- Lulu, Nino, Minnie, Maxi, Ada and Stan - enjoy Jacuzzis and massages and have their paws treated with balm before being perfumed.

He told her: “I’m happy to have my dogs groomed but there’s a line between grooming and pampering and you’ve crossed it.”

He was shocked when she revealed she cooked them steak for a Friday treat because “After a long hard week they deserve something nice.”

He scoffed: “Come on. How hard has this week been for them?”

Eva replied: “It’s hard work being that fabulous.”

He’s even less impressed when they decide to take their dogs out to the park.

The barking mad owner dresses each one up before loading them into her dog carriage and explains that she keeps them in the pushchair because one of her pampered pets was once spooked by a dog.

Richard says: “I’m sure the dogs are dying to get out of there and run around.”

He asks how much she spends on her pets and she admits it’s between £15,000 and £17,000 a year.”

“Wow,” says Richard. “That’s a small car.”

The pair finished the visit at Eva’s favourite local – which has a dog menu and even serves dog BEER.

Richard jokes: “Dog beer. Really? Mind you, they’re not driving.”

Anne Robinson’s Britain is on BBC1 on Thursday at 8pm.
