VOTES ARE IN

X Factor vs Strictly Come Dancing – where will voting for your winner cost you more?

It's the battle of the Saturday night TV competitions!

IT’S no secret that there’s a bit of a rivalry between the X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing bosses.

But as the two telly favourites go head-to-head for the Saturday night hot-spot, which show is the least expensive to vote on?

The Sun recently reported that viewers can get stung with some pretty big fees depending on how they vote.

Rates vary depending on which number you ring and from what operating system.

X Factor voters who call in from a landline are charged 35p per vote.

For Strictly Come Dancing fans that ring a Mobile Short Dial Code number on a landline, the cost is just 15p per minute.

This means that as long as you don’t forget to hang-up the phone while ringing Strictly, it’s cheaper to register a vote on the popular BBC dancing competition.

Staggeringly, you can get over DOUBLE the Strictly votes than you can when you ring into the X Factor phone-line.

While phoning in is more expensive on the ITV talent show, fans are able to get their hands on more free votes.

Strictly viewers can visit the show’s website and support their favourite act with three votes, which doesn’t cost a penny.

Even though it can be pricey to phone into the X Factor, downloading the app is a simple solution.

All you have to do is download the iOS or Android Official X Factor app to your smartphone or tablet.

You can choose to split your votes between contestants or pin them all on your favourite.

Every app user can have five votes without being charged, which is two extra freebies than Strictly viewers get from the BBC website.
