Disgruntled driver shares aggressive note left on windscreen that says ‘your bad parking gave me CANCER’

A WOMAN was left stunned after finding an aggressive note on a car windshield that says “your bad parking gave me cancer”.

Sarah Bryant, who appears to be from America, photographed the long handwritten letter about a dead grandfather, a vow to never smoke and the memorable line, “I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it [smoking], because your parking job was so s***** it gave me cancer anyway”.

The message has been shared over 130,000 times since Sarah shared it on Twitter on Monday.

The note, addressed to “whoever owns this car”, started off in a very sentimental way: “My Grandfather smoked his whole life.

“I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, ‘if you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.’

“Tears welled up in his eyes when he realised exactly what was at stake. He quit cold turkey that very day.”

It continued: “Three years later he died of lung cancer. We were very close, and his death destroyed me.

"My mother said to me, ‘Please never smoke, don’t put your family through what your grandfather put us through.’ I agreed.”

And it concluded with: “At 18, I have never touched a cigarette, I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your parking job was so s*****, it gave me cancer anyway… Jesus f*** please learn how to park.”

Variations on the format of this joke, with the grandfather and smoking elements, have appeared on internet message boards since at least 2014.

It is a spin-off from the longstanding This Post Gave Me Cancer meme.

The word ‘cancer’ in this context is used as slang to convey someone’s disgust towards a trend, event or online thread.

While some people appreciated the dark humour, others questioned whether Sarah really found the note on someone’s car.

"She took this off Reddit not someone's car," commented one user.

Other people were unimpressed by the use of cancer as a punchline for a joke.

"Stop promoting 'jokes' that have 'gave me cancer' as the punchline? That would be great. Thanks," said one contributor.
