Some victims have even had to cancel their cards as a result of the issue.

On user said: “#deliveroo just allowed my account to be hacked to the tune of £600 in two day! Some fat hackers out there…”

While another said: "Just had to ring my bank and cancel my card because someone hacked my deliveroo and spent £300+ on deliveries... in France.”

A third customer said: “Bah just had my account hacked and someone's tried making a £207 deliveroo order?? Someone was a bit peckish…”

Deliveroo is denying that there has been a breach within its systems.

A Deliveroo spokesperson said: “Customer security is incredibly important to us, and instances of fraud on our systems are rare. We have robust processes in place, which we are constantly refining to protect customers.

“On the rare occasions fraud does occur, we block the account, reimburse the customer, report it, and work with the authorities to resolve the case.”

How do you get your money back if your Deliveroo account has been hacked

In the first instance you can contact Deliveroo by email [email protected] or on +44 203 322 3444.

Deliveroo should refund you for any amounts that have been taken from your account without authorisation.

If for any reason they do not you can try and recoup the money from your bank or credit card lender.

You should report the fraud as soon as possible directly to them.
