All you have to do is pick which one.

But it is not as simple as it seems and only 36 per cent of people on the website have got it right.

Each box is labelled with a statement, but only one of them is true.

  • Box 1: The car is in this box
  • Box 2: The car is not in this box
  • Box 3: The car is not in box 1
Then readers are given a multiple choice answer

These statements give the reader just enough information to work out which box has the car in it, but not enough to make the brainteaser too easy.

Only one of the statements is true, so that would mean that if the statement on box 1 was correct then the statement on box two would also be correct, so that rules out box one.

The same goes for box three and box two, if the car was in box three then both the statements would be correct, so that rules out box three.

Because the car is in box two, it means only the statement on box three is true.
