When are Oxford Street’s Christmas 2016 lights switched on and who’s performing?
THE PAVEMENTS of Oxford Street are always packed with keen shoppers eager to bag some swag on the capital's biggest high street.
But shortly the road will be full to the bring with eager spectators, not there the browse the rails but there to look at the lights.
The switching on of the Oxford Street Christmas lights has become an event that perfectly marks the start of the festive season and this year is set to be a corker.
But what is planned for the country's most famous display? We've got the lowdown...
What time will the lights be switched on?
The show gets underway from 6.15pm on Sunday, November 6.
What should we expect?
This year have partnered with children's charity NSPCC to bring you the festive extravaganza.
The organisers claim that this year will be their: "biggest and best Oxford Street Christmas Lights Switch On event."
In addition to the show, the road will play host to a number of London's top street food brands for excited spectators to tuck into some warming nosh.
The stores on the street will also be enticing shoppers in with a number of to take advantage of on the day.
Those who want a little piece of the action are being offered the opportunity to support the NSPCC campaign.
For a £5 donation to the charity you can name one of the twinkling stars after someone special in your life so "your light will sparkle as part of the world famous display".
Who will be performing?
The headline act, who will be taking on the coveted position of "light-turner-oner" will be RnB come back king Craig David.
He will be marking the official start of the Oxford Street festive shopping season with a performance before pushing the big button to illuminate the street.
Joining him on stage will be The Vamps, Nathan Sykes and X Factor winner Louisa Johnson.
Hosting proceedings on the evening will be Capital FM Djs Will Manning and Aimee Vivian.
Over in Kettering the town's plans to have Lindsay Lohan switch on their Christmas display are in doubt as the council have struggled to make contact with the troubled celebrity.
