AD-MIRING THE DEALS

Argos Christmas 2016 advert – when is it on TV, what’s the song and why are Yetis ice skating through London?

THE BATTLE is on as the shops start to release their Christmas adverts all hoping to take the crown for the best festive promotional clip.

Argos has released their Christmas offering featuring the Yetis, ice skating and a lot of toys.

The popular high street retailer's ad shows five brightly coloured Yetis ice skating down the street in London.

As the whizz through the capital they admire a number of Argos' signature Christmas products including fitness watches, furbies and iPads.

As the fluffy creatures career through the streets, they are supported by a soundtrack of "What's This?" from Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas.

The advert will air tonight during Channel Four's Googlebox.

The 8ft tall neon yetis are Argos' response to the growing trend of heart-warming and solemn Christmas adverts.

In a statement Argos said: "The light-hearted and entertaining advert (which adds to predictions of the end of so-called Christmas "sadvertising") has been designed to bring some much-needed festive joy."
