Is this the John Lewis Christmas advert 2016? Twitter users speculate over teaser trailer

THE John Lewis Christmas advert is fast becoming as integral to festive tradition as turkey and mince pies.

That’s why a short teaser trailer which has been posted on Twitter has sent some users into a frenzy.

Many are speculating that this could be the retailer's Christmas advert for 2016.

The 10 second video clip is of a dog watching a girl bounce around on a red space space hopper in their snow covered garden.

It also uses a font which is similar to the style used by John Lewis in adverts and the hashtag #BounceBounce.

The Twitter account @bouncing2016 was started in September this year. It follows no other accounts and posted the video earlier today.

One user on Twitter said: "Already have a tear in my eye from the #BounceBounce teaser!"

Another said: "Is this the new @JohnLewisRetaile advert #BounceBounce".

The advert is usually a closely guarded secret but is set to appear on TV screens from Thursday.

A spokesperson from John Lewis said: "There has been a lot speculation about our ad but we don’t want to ruin the surprise. All will be revealed on 10 November."

Today, The Sun Online revealed that the advert will feature a cover of Randy Crawford's One Day I'll Fly Away by English electronica trio the Vaults.

Last year’s advert, “The Man on the Moon”, was released in early November too and featured a cover of “Hal the World Away” by Oasis, sung by Norwegian solo artist Aurora.

Last week, Rachel Swift, head of brand marketing at John Lewis, said that while the creative idea changes each year the heart of the strategy remains the same.

“It’s all about thoughtful gifting, because at John Lewis we feel that people can go the extra mile to find the perfect present for the one they love,” she said.

Over the weekend a student’s fake John Lewis advert went viral after people mistook it for the real thing.

The clip, which is set to the track Follow You Follow Me by Vapor ft Adaline, was created by A Level student Nick Jab for his A2 media coursework.
