Brave Jeremy Kyle guest who was raped by her dad at the age of 11 is slammed by her MOTHER for ‘betraying the family’
Becky's father was jailed after years of sexual abuse but her mum has forgiven him and blames her daughter for 'humiliating' the family
A BRAVE child abuse victim who was raped by her dad at 11 was slammed by her own mother on The Jeremy Kyle Show.
Becky Herbert’s dad, David Manning, was convicted of seven sex offences including rape in 2010 and jailed for nine years, but was released after serving half his sentence.
But her mum – a staunch Christian – told her daughter to “consider herself an orphan” after she spoke out about years of abuse.
Becky, now 21, told Jeremy: “He started touching at 9. It turned to rape at 11 when I reached puberty.
“He told me I was his until I got married.”
She revealed that the abuse continued for four more years before she found the courage to tell a friend at a Christian camp – after a “voice” told her to speak out.
She said: “We were sitting in a camp circle and singing a song. It sounds crazy but a voice told me ‘tell someone now’.”
Her father initially denied the allegations but, after three days, he confessed and was sentenced to nine years, at Plymouth Crown Court.
But the audience were shocked when Becky revealed that her mother had rejected her after the trial.
She said: “She told me to consider myself an orphan.”
Jeremy read out a statement from the mother – who attacked her daughter and blamed her for “humiliating” the family.
The statement read: “What occurred has affected the whole family, not just Rebecca.
“She has exaggerated the truth. I feel angry and betrayed by Rebecca. She’s humiliated the family and I can’t trust her.
“David Manning has been assessed as low risk and that speaks volumes. He’s been rehabilitated.”

Becky was on the show with her boyfriend, Geoff, who called her “the strongest person I ever met.”
He said when Becky told him the story, “I felt ashamed to be a man. To think a man could do something like that.”
He added: “I help her the best I can. I love her to pieces.”
Becky had the final word, showing her courage with advice for anyone else who may be suffering abuse.
She said: “Please speak out. It’s important. Don’t be ashamed. It’s not your fault.”
