Singer Tove Lo turns heads at awards ceremony with bizarre uterus dress
Never one to be shy, the Swedish songstress opted for a sheer orange dress featuring an embroidered design of the female reproductive system
SINGER Tove Lo turned heads on the red carpet at the 2016 Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (ARIAs) today with a bizarre dress featuring an embroidered uterus.
The Swedish songstress rocked a sheer orange gown with an eye-catching print of the female reproductive system on the front, along with a pair of nude knickers and a lacy orange bra.
The star-studded bash, held while we slept in Sydney, Australia, attracted the likes of Robbie Williams, James Arthur, The Temper Trap, Jessica Mauboy and Charli XCX.
But Tove’s dress stole the show, with many commenting on the unusual pattern on social media.
One fan wrote: “Tove Lo’s dress at the #ARIAS with ovaries on it made my own explode.”
Another simply pointed out: “Tove Lo’s dress has ovaries on it.”
Speaking in defence of her bold fashion statement, Tove told on the red carpet: “I’m from Sweden where we don’t really censor at all… you’ve just got to say what it is.”
She explained the pattern is “a vagina, or a p***y… whatever you want to call it”, adding: “My Swedish stylist who calls himself Crap Diem, he asked if he could make me a dress and I was like, yeah, whatever you make, I’m in.”
It’s not the first time Tove’s outrageous outfits have set tongues wagging.
Earlier this month she took to the stage at the London launch of new album Lady Wood and started to strip off, exposing her bare boobs.
Covering her modesty were green glittering nipple pasties in the shape of cannabis leaves.
Meanwhile singer Charli XCX also went for a daring look, opting to bare her bum in a super-short white tennis skirt.
