SCIENTISTS at Nestle claim they have found a method to halve the amount of sugar in its chocolate.
Chocolatiers are altering the structure of sugar to make it taste sweeter in smaller amounts.
The makers of KitKats will gradually use less sugar in its products in a new process from 2018.
Food giant Nestle’s Chief Technology Officer Stefan Catsicas said: “We want people to get used to a different taste, a taste that would be more natural.

“We really want to be the drivers of the solution.”
It comes as the World Health Organisation recommended increasing the price of sugary drinks by 20 per cent to reduce consumption by a fifth.
