So how does a Lidl of what you fancy compare to more expensive undies?

And can you tell which is which?

Here, model REMY GREEN and Sun stylist GABRIELE DIRVANAUSKAS give their Lidl verdicts.

Model says: “I really liked this bra, it’s a modern design and fits very well. It didn’t feel any worse than any other brand you’d find on the High Street.”

Stylist says: “I can barely tell the two apart – Lidl’s bra is very similar to one that costs more than ten times as much.”

Model says: “I thought the Lidl bra fitted very well considering it’s only £5.99 – I’m not a fan of the quality of the material though.”

Stylist says: “Lidl’s neutral design means you can wear this bra every day and it’s almost an exact match to the Victoria’s Secret style.”

Model says: “This is a bit racy for Lidl. I don’t like the sheerness of this at all. It feels cheap and you can really tell the difference compared to the one from NK Imode at Selfridges.”

Stylist says: “The cami is too sheer for something you would drop into your shopping basket. It isn’t a very flattering cut – so go for something a little more classy.”

Left: Navy and pink floral bra, £65; knickers, £40, both Heidi Klum Intimates / Right: Floral bra, £5.99; matching knickers, two for £5.99, both LidlCredit: Lidl

Model says: “Lidl’s bra felt supportive but I didn’t love the colours – they are a bit old-fashioned for my taste.”

Stylist says: “The pattern is printed on the Lidl bra rather than embroidered on, but the colours are similar to the expensive version.”
