Devastated woman seeks help on Mumsnet after learning her two best mates are going to her cheating ex-husband’s wedding

While few women would be thrilled at the prospect of an ex marrying the woman he had an affair with, it would surely stick the knife in further to have two of your best friends attend the celebrations

A WOMAN has taken to Mumsnet to vent about her friends attending the wedding of her ex-husband to the woman he cheated on her with.

While few women would be thrilled at the prospect of an ex marrying the woman he had an affair with, it would surely stick the knife in further to have two of your best friends attend the celebrations.

Feeling confused, the woman posted her plight on - where she received an outpouring of support from others.

Many users even advised her to cut her so-called friends out of her life.

The poster, Whataspectacle, explained that while she had no problem with her ex marrying the woman he cheated with, she feels hurt as her two closest friends, who are attending the wedding, saw her at her weakest and most heartbroken when her husband left her.

She added that her ex treated her badly both during their marriage and after - with her two friends there to witness everything that happened to her.

The Mumsnet user went on to say that they used to be mutual friends of her and the ex-husband but have only recently gotten back in contact.

She explains that while she understands the friends every right to go to the wedding, she still feels betrayed by their decision.

Users were quick to back the betrayed woman, with many saying they wouldn't want their close friends going to the wedding with the “other woman” – and that the poster has every right to be upset.

One Mumsnet user went as far as to say that she should re-think her friendships completely, while  a user called OhhBetty said that “decent” friends wouldn't go, adding that their attendance “tells you all you need to know” about them.

Flamingnoravera went on to share her story – which had been similar.

She explained that her friends remained friends with her ex and she took the more brutal approach of cutting them all out of her life – adding that they had even known that her partner had been cheating and didn't tell her.

But, on the other hand, others more understanding when it came to the friend’s point of view.

One user wrote they would choose to: “live and let live”.

Ultimately, most agreed that if they two friends were loyal they shouldn't go.

Aeroflotgirl went further, adding that the friends sounded like “two-faced backstabbers” who the original poster could do without.
