The debut solo novel from McFly's Tom Fletcher, The Christmasaurus, will be brought to life on stage in London December 2017.

Having already confirmed a date at the Eventim Apollo on December 22, the show has announced an extra performance on December 23. It will include music, animation, magic and special guests who are still to be announced.

Tom announced the news on Instagram with a video that saw him confirming that there will be "music, snow, magic and Christmas lights, singing Elves, the big man himself Santa, and a very Christmassy dinosaur."

It has also been announced that The Christmasurus is being turned into an animated film, directed by Michael Gracey, which tom has written a number of songs for.

Who is Tom Fletcher?

Tom was the lead vocalist and guitarists of the popular pop/rock band in the early 2000's. In addition to being the group's founder and principal songwriter, he originally auditioned and was accepted in the band Busted, losing out to Charlie Simpson.

However, since the band's split, Tom has become famous on YouTube for creating various videos documenting his wife's pregnancies and the arrival of their children and released his first children's novel in 2012, which he co-wrote with band mate Dougie Poyneter.

What is the book about?

The Christmasaurus was released on October 6th and he has already sold the rights for the novel. The book is part of his The Dinosaur That Pooped series.

It follows the festive tale of a boy named William Trundle who travels to that most magical home of Santa Claus, The North Pole, were he meets a dinosaur. This is not the North Pole as you may have imagined it before: there are elves with names like Snozzletrump speaking entirely in rhyme, Santa has a vinyl-powered sleigh, and, most importantly - there is a dinosaur in residence who wishes he was a reindeer.

The Christmasaurus upcoming tour dates are as follows:

Friday 22 December 2017 and Saturday 23 2017 at London's Eventim Apollo.
