Speaking to the Sun Online, she revealed she wrote the post after taking a shower with daughter Lily.

She said: “I had been trying to awkwardly shave my legs around her and just had the thought of ' No one tells you about this bit.'”

Gylisa shared that she had never wanted kids when she was younger.

“I never felt that pull to motherhood that so many of my friends did,” she said.

“It was only when I met my fiancé that I realised I wanted us to be a family, and as much as I’ve written about the real and often negative side of motherhood, there have been some absolutely incredible highs as well."

She said that although she is honoured to be Lily’s Mum and is happy in the role, she is not ready for Lily to have a brother or a sister yet.

“I had severe morning sickness with Lily, it stayed the entire time. And I was very unwell after birth, so struggled to bond with her,” she revealed.

“It took a little while for me to feel the love everyone else talks about – that’s what made me want to start my blog in the first place.

“I wanted other mums to be able to talk about these feelings, and realise that they aren't alone.

“I think it is SO important to share the 'real side' of motherhood. The transition into parenthood is so daunting and so overwhelming, you need people to be honest the most then.”
