FROM great films to the new series of Sherlock, this week has plenty of festive treats in store.
It’s Christmas! So sit back, relax and enjoy the best the box has to offer.
Boxing Day
Outnumbered Christmas Special
We’ve had an Outnumbered-shaped hole in our lives for over two years, but now the beloved BBC comedy is back – hurrah!
Set during Boxing Day, it sees the Brockman family attempt a special mission for Grandad, but, inevitably, they come across a whole host of hilarious problems.
Claire Skinner and Hugh Dennis once again star, alongside a very grown-up Tyger Drew-Honey, Ramona Marquez and Daniel Roche.
BBC1, 10pm
TUESDAY
50 Greatest Harry Potter Moments
All our HP dreams have come true with this bumper Harry Potter special.
How can they possibly choose the best moments when they’re all so good?!
P.S. You can also watch every single Harry Potter film over the course of this week on ITV! Yay!
ITV, 4.10pm
WEDNESDAY
Ethel & Ernest
Raymond Briggs may be best known for The Snowman, but this tale is a little closer to home for the author.
Based on the lives of Briggs’ parents, lady’s maid Ethel (Brenda Blethyn) and milkman Ernest (Jim Broadbent), the heart-warming animation follows the four decades of their marriage as they live through a number of tumultuous events in British history.
BBC1, 7.30pm
THURSDAY
Chicken Run
Ahhhh another festive favourite of ours.
A headstrong chicken and her fellow fowls ponder how to escape from a grim Yorkshire farm before the evil farmer's wife can turn them into pies.
Luckily, help arrives in the form of a heroic American rooster who promises to show them how to fly.
With the voices of Mel Gibson, Julia Sawalha, Miranda Richardson and Jane Horrocks.
BBC1, 10.50am
FRIDAY
Captain America: The Winter Solider
If you’re enjoying a cosy night in today (in preparation for New Year’s madness tomorrow), then tuck into this fantastic superhero treat.
Captain American becomes an operative for secret intelligence agency SHIELD, but grows suspicious of their motives.
Following a battle with a mysterious cyborg assassin, he and fellow Avenger Black Widow become fugitives, and try to bring down a sinister conspiracy.
It’s also packed with celebs, including Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L Jackson and Robert Redford.
What’s not to like?
BBC1, 9.25pm
New Year’s Eve
Jools’ Annual Hootennany
It’s New Year’s Eve, so we can very nearly put all of 2016's bad decisions and mistakes behind us. Hurrah!
Jools Holland returns with his annual NYE extravaganza, so pour yourself a glass of champers and ring in the New Year in style.
BBC2, 11.20pm
New Year’s Day
Sherlock: The Six Thatchers
Kick off 2017 with a bang as Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman return as the dynamic detective duo.
This series Culverton Smith (Toby Jones) steps into the role of the villain – and he’s giving us the creeps already.
We. Can’t. Wait.
