Mum describes incredible moment she pulled her baby from her body during a C-section delivery

Sarah Toyer, who has three other children, shared photos of the amazing moment online to encourage other mothers to 'stick to their guns' about birth choices

A MUM has spoken of the incredible moment she delivered her own baby by lifting him out of her womb during a C-section.

Writing on Facebook page , Sarah Toyer said it was the "most incredible thing" she had ever done.

She told how she was determined to have a maternal assisted c-section to give birth to her fourth child.

The mum from Queensland, Australia, wrote: "I talked to every midwife, doctor, and surgeon about what I wanted to do, but they all said it would depend on the surgeon on call that day.

"So, when the day came along we waited eight hours at the hospital, then I was standing there next to the surgeon scrubbing up just as she was.

"Maybe half an hour later I was lying on the operating table watching my son's head being pulled from my womb.

"I reached down and put my hands under his arms and lifted the rest of him out of my own body."

Along with her post, Sarah, who also has three other children - Jay, Ruby and Wyatt - posted astonishing pictures of the moment her son arrived into the world, taken by her husband Joseph.

She added a message to fellow mums: "I highly recommend you stick to your guns about what birth you want! Welcome earth side baby Spencer."

Sarah told she was keen to let other women know there's "always another way to birth even if you have to have a C-section".

Last year we told how a proud dad shared an incredible video captured moments after his wife gave birth in the car on the way to the hospital.
