Obese student sheds nine stone to become sportswear model… and her trick involves a teaspoon
Mathilde Broberg, 21, claims she tricked her body into thinking it was full by only eating with a teaspoon
AN OBESE student transformed herself into a sportswear model after shedding half her body weight by only eating her food with a teaspoon.
Mathilde Broberg, 21, from Denmark, cut back from a massive 3,500 calorie a day diet and gorging on dinners big enough for two people in order to drop the weight.
At her biggest she weighed in at 19st 9lbs.
Mathilde’s reality check came when she was turned away from a rollercoaster ride as she was too big to enjoy the attraction as she could barely fit the seat harness around herself.
She then vowed to ditch her favourite snacks including crisps, chocolate and sweet treats and managed to lose nine stone of the course of the following four years.
Having previously been clinically obese, she made the dramatic lifestyle swap following her fairground shame and has not looked back since.
Mathilde claims her success is down to conning her body into feeling full by only eating food with a teaspoon and only serving herself portions the size of her hand.
She now weighs in at just 10st 5lbs and, after splashing out on a tummy tuck to remover her excess skin, has become a sportswear and catalogue model.

It was after the embarrassing incident on the roller coaster, back in 2011, that Mathilde started using these techniques to shed the pounds.
She said: “It wasn't fun being obese as a child because I missed out on things my friends did like running around, going swimming and more.
“I feared going on roller coasters as I didn't think I'd fit into the seat, one time I was close to being kicked off a ride as the latch was struggling to pull over me.”
After shedding a total of nine stone, Mathilde splurged £5,700 on a tummy tuck to remove the left over saggy skin.
Mathilde said: “After losing weight, my belly looked just as large as it did when I was heavily obese, it was a tummy of harsh old fat, I really hated it.”
But after the surgery she described that she felt she had transformed into the “real” her.
