Barron Trump is now the presidential son… here’s how the 10-year-old’s life is about to change

Barron Trump will remain in New York until he finishes this school year, before moving to Washington

THE youngest son of Donald Trump's life is set to change dramatically thanks to his father's new role as the president of the United States.

While Barron, being the son of a billionaire business mogul, already hasn't had the most conventional upbringing, there will still be changes to his routine now he's the son of the president.

But how will his life change?

He won't move into the White House... yet

While Barron will be the first boy to live in the White House since JFK's son moved in in the sixties, he's not going to be uprooted just yet.

After he won the election last November, Donald told the media that his son's schooling would take priority and he would remain at the family home in New York with his mother Melania, where Barron has a floor all to himself, for at least six months so he can finish the school year without interruption.

Naturally, with a move to Washington, the youngest of the Trump offspring will have to change schools.

In New York, Barron attended the exclusive Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School, where famous alumni included Breakfast Club actress Ally Sheedy and Moby Dick author Herman Melville.

His current school costs around £31,000 a year.

For the last 35-years, all the offspring of the president in power have attended Sidwell Friends, a private Quaker school.

Sasha Obama is currently at the school and her sister Malia recently graduated, as did Chelsea Clinton.

But there has been speculation that Barron Trump may well actually end up attending another school in Washington instead, as it is described to be more "Republican tolerant."

St. Albans School is an all boys school where other Republican politicians have sent their kids.

Another option will be Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland, according to School Choice International CEO Timothy Dwyer, who told that the country-club vibe would match up to Donald's outlook.

He will have bodyguards

All children of the president are provided the protection of the Secret Service when they leave the White House, and Barron has already been looked after by bodyguards.

On his recent play date with friends over Thanksgiving at his dad's house in Mar-a-Lago in Florida, Barron and his family were afforded a troop of 150 security guards to protect them over the holiday weekend.

While Barron and his mother Melania stay in Trump Tower in New York, they will be protected by the Secret Service and the protection is predicted to cost $1 million a day for Barron and the rest of the Trump family living in New York.

Obama recently admitted that his daughters Malia and Sasha did complain about the Secret Service following them when they became teenagers, but the girls were still allowed to attend sleep overs and do things that normal kids would do, just with the addition of the Secret Service protection.

Can he have friends over to visit the White House?

Children of the president, or "First Kids" as they're often called, are allowed to have friends over to visit at the White House.

As well as being an office, a museum and a ceremonial stage, the presidential residence is also a family home.

Malia and Sasha Obama often had friends over to the White House and a visit to the presidential home would certainly impress the other kids.

With a theatre, swimming pool, tennis courts and room service, there's a lot to entertain any young friends Barron might want to invite over.

Can Barron have pets in the White House?

First kids are allowed to have animals in the White House.

The Obamas had dogs named Sonny and Bo, while the Kennedy and Carter kids all had pets too.

It's thought that Barron has picked a Goldendoodle dog to be his pet in the White House.

How will being the president's son shape his future?

Being the son of a famous millionaire certainly comes with a lot of attention, but being the son of the president comes with even more fame.

Barron will have to attend a lot of events with his family and his behaviour, including yawning during his father's inauguration, will be scrutinised by the public.

Sasha Obama was just seven when he dad took office, and Obama has recently confessed that he was worried about what effect growing up in the limelight would have on his daughters, but said to that they have both grown up to be "sweet, kind, funny, smart, respectful people."

Obama said his daughters' personalities were all down to his wife Michelle's "grace."

Barron Trump has solely been brought up by his parents and is extremely close to his mother Melania, with the new First Lady describing her son as like a "Little Donald."

Donald Trump became the 45th president of the US after his inauguration this week, and his family were at the ceremony to support him.

Elsewhere, protests against Trump's presidency have been taking place in various cities in the US and other countries.
