Brave snowboarder is labelled a ‘hero’ after wrestling an out-of-control snowmobile on a busy ski slope
Video of the incident shows the young man launch himself at the unmanned machine, which was heading onto a busy ski run at Uludag resort in Turkey
A brave snowboarder earned more than his fair share of apres-ski earlier this week, when he wrestled an out-of-control snowmobile off a busy slope.
A video of the incident, which was filmed by a skier using a nearby drag lift, shows the young man launch himself at the unmanned machine, which was heading onto a busy ski run.
The driver of the buggy had lost control while trying to avoid another snowmobile in the ski resort of Uludag, in north-western Turkey’s Bursa Province, just moments earlier.
The machine then careered into the path of a T-Lift, narrowly avoiding young skiers who were travelling on it.
As the buggy neared a second slope, which was packed with revellers enjoying the resort’s winter festival, the snowboarder shot into view and launched himself on top of it.
He is then seen twisting on to his back to get control of the handlebars while moving down the slope.
The person behind the camera revealed that the man clocked the errant snowmobile from far up the slope and sped past hundreds of skiers to stop it, labelling him “heroic”.
According to reports, police have now launched an investigation into the incident.
