The Chase’s Dark Destroyer finds himself in hot water after telling 19-year-old to go ‘Walkies’

Shaun Wallace was later accused by viewers of 'talking filth' to pretty contestant Paiton during last night's episode

THE Dark Destroyer found himself in hot water on The Chase last night after a female contestant thought he’d called her a “dog”.

To make matters worse, The Chaser was later accused by viewers of “talking filth” to the 19-year-old.

Paiton, from Wigan, greeted host Bradley Walsh – whom she called ‘Bradders’ – before revealing she is an animal behaviour and welfare student at the University of Chester and works part-time at Topshop.

The pretty contestant said she’d love to become a zoo-keeper abroad, and currently fills her spare time baking and doing crochet.

She impressed in the cash builder round, notching up £7,000.

When she faced Chaser Shaun Wallace, he asked her about her animal studies, before joking: “After this head-to-head it will be ‘Walkies!’”

Shocked, Paiton turned to Bradders and asked: “Did he just call me a dog?”

Sadly Barbara Woodhouse’s comedic catchphrase from the early Eighties was lost on the 19-year-old.

The Dark Destroyer assured her: “Paiton I wouldn’t insult you, especially after that commendable performance.”

Cheeky Bradders quipped: “Thank you, Bowling Ball Head.”

Before they went head-to-head, Wallace then admitted Paiton was “the best 19-year-old I've ever come across”, sparking a flurry of comments on Twitter accusing him of "talking filth".

One viewer tweeted: "Awkward moment when the chaser says ‘You're the best 19 year old I've ever come across" #TheChase."

Another wrote: “’You’re the best 19 year old I've ever come across.' The Dark Destroyer #thechase #dirtyfiend” while one added: “Chaser talking filth there #thechase.”

An eagle-eyed viewer observed: "#TheChase SEAN - "She's the best 19 year old I've come across". Bradley moved on very fast!"

Shocked by his admission, Bradders did indeed attempt to move the show along to avoid yet more embarrassment for Paiton.

Paiton continued to impress in her round with the Dark Destroyer, making it home safe with her £7K.

The Dark Destroyer admitted: “With her youth she’s going to be a danger in the final chase.”

He was right, as in a tense showdown Wallace lost out by one question, meaning the team took home their prize pot.

Last month we told how fans called for the Dark Destroyer to retire after a catastrophic final chase performance.

He's not the only one off his game of late, as contestants took home a huge £46k after the Sinnerman crumbled under the pressure last week.

Meanwhile a contestant earlier this week looked like the adorable old man from Disney film Up… and everybody loved it.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
