'This is really embarrassing'

Heartbroken mum takes to Facebook after a home funeral for her beloved cat… then realises she’s buried the WRONG one when he turns up at home

And it sounds like this epic fail isn't even uncommon

A HEARTBROKEN mum shared an emotional Facebook post about her beloved dead cat… but what happened next will leave you in stitches.

Following the “death” of her cute moggy, Cathy Vickers was quick to share the sad news on social media.

She said: “RIP sweet Tom. You will always be the coolest cat. My boys will miss you!”

Cathy’s mates replied offering their condolences, and some even used the crying Facebook reaction to show their support.

But an hour later, the mum’s second status shocked everyone.

She hilariously admitted: “Ok this is really embarrassing.

“Idk whose cat we buried but, Tom just showed up at our house.

“Only at the Vickers house.

“Got some happy boys here.”

It turns out that her moggy was actually alive after all... but what about the other cat?!

Cathy’s son was so amused by the feline blunder that he posted screenshots of the epic fail to Twitter.

Over 160,000 people liked the post, with dozens of commenters remarking that the story made them chuckle.

Many have been desperate to find out the identity of the dead cat that is currently buried in Cathy's garden.

Bizarrely, it seems that Cathy’s mistake isn’t rare.

One responder commented: “MY MUM DID THIS TOO OMFG”.

Another said: “This happened to my mom and I when we thought our cat got ran over, went missing for 3 days comes back the night we bury lol.”

Losing a cat can be a difficult thing for pet lovers to come to terms with.

In December, a woman had her dead moggy's ashes mixed into ink for tribute tattoo.

Another feline fanatic was left devastated when their cat went missing... only for it to turn up eight years later.
