However, this Valentine's Day, Poundland are offering the ultimate budget meal with a full three-course meal for two for just £3 per person.

Using a £1 pack of tomato and oregano bruschetta, shoppers can top it with a £1 tin of crab meat for an appetiser.

For the main course, couples can recreate their own Lady and the Tramp moment with two beef and tomato pot noodles (two for £1), layered with a £1 pack of beef meatballs and a tin of Batchelors garden peas, which are three for £1.
