Women are forking out thousands of pounds to get lower back dimples in new cosmetic surgery trend
The dents are said to be a sign of good health and a screaming sex life
THE LATEST cosmetic beauty trend is seeing women fork out thousands to create lower back dimples.
Inspired by celebrities such as Miranda Kerr and Kendall Jenner, women are asking plastic surgeons to help them create “Venus dimples” at the base of their backs.
The dents are said to be a sign of good health and a screaming sex life, but they aren’t easy to get naturally through exercise.
London-based surgeon Dr Amanda Wong-Powell has created a pricey treatment at her Harley Street wellness clinic to help women achieve the “V-spot” dents.
The W1 Wellness clinic founder said to : “The V-spot is a curved diamond area in the back and is usually found naturally on the body of very sporty and athletic women, this is why a lot of women want to go under the knife to have their V-spot done because they want to look young and fit - think Jessica Ennis.

“The lower back has always been championed as a beautiful region of the female body.
“However, with the rise of aesthetic surgery of the buttocks, many people are realizing that lifted buttocks only look good if paired with a sexy sculpted lower back - one fails to look good without the other.”
How the cosmetic procedure works
- The V-Spot treatment is done to enhance the look of your back area.
- It takes an hour and requires the patient to have local anaesthetic during the procedure.
- It works by a cannula being inserted through a small incision.
- Heat and energy is then applied to break down fat in the lower back, which is sucked up using a suction cannula creating the dimples.
- The recovery time is around 10 days and patients have to wear a compression garment to avoid swelling for up to six weeks.
- The dimples are said to be visible after the four week mark, but can take three months to emerge.
The stars may make it look easy, but the Venus dimples do not come cheap.
Dr Wong-Powell’s treatment costs £4,900 and creates two dimples and a diamond shape in the back using a VASER liposuction treatment.
She said that the cosmetic procedure isn’t painful, but some may experience aching in the first couple of days, which can be helped by painkillers.
The treatment works by breaking down fat using sound energy, and doesn’t break down the surrounding tissue, meaning less down-time is required post-surgery.
