Not everyone’s happy about Adele’s big Grammys win… Beyoncé fans are FURIOUS their idol was snubbed
Fans have been quick to choose sides, buy who do you agree with?
LAST night's Grammys were huge for singer Adele, who snapped up the three biggest awards of the evening.
The British songstress went home with golden statues for Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year, becoming the first artist ever to score the coveted ‘hat-trick’ twice following her 2012 success.
She also won the Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance prizes, taking home each gong she was nominated for.
In her acceptance speech for Album of the Year – awarded for 25 – the Hello singer shocked fans when she announced she didn’t deserve it because it should have been Beyoncé's.
She said: “[Her] Lemonade album is monumental, so monumental, so well-thought-out, so beautiful and soul-baring.”
It turns out she may not be the only one who feels that way.
While Adele fans are delighted with the wins, Beyoncé’s legions of avid supporters are furious that their idol was snubbed for the coveted award.
The US star was nominated for nine gongs and she took home two - Best Music Video for Formation and Best Urban Contemporary Album for Lemonade.
One outraged tweeter said: “How can Beyoncé only win 1 award at the grammys and Adele beat her for Album of the year? Woman had over 9 nominations & better album.”
Another twitter user weigh up the argument: “Beyonce album was better but you can't ignore the fact that Adele album sold more in 1 week than Beyonces sold in the whole year.”
While twitter user @MGS1X said: "U people that are claiming Adele is better than Beyonce didnt get enough sleep last night."
And another indignantly added: "Are you guys ok? Adele is not a better vocalist than Beyoncé pls."
While another tweeter added: “Adele won record, album, and song of the year? F*** y'all. 25 was hot garbage.”
And @MontyMoncrieff said: “I agree with @Adele @Beyonce's Lemonade is a MUCH better album than 25 #Grammys”
Another tweeter added: "Beyonce is better than Adele. But Adele is outstanding."
There are, however, plenty of people who support the decision to present Adele with the prize.
Twitter user @ginahoshi said: “Beyonce is so overrated. Sorry but lemonade album was awful. Her old works were better im happy about adele.”
And @fridayslyzzle said: “Adele is a way better singer than Beyonce, hands down.”
And another twitter user added: "Adele deserved that award. The sales numbers are astronomical, she blew Beyonce out of the park. Content wise, its even a better album."
While others felt that neither of the stars had earned the trophy.
One tweeter said: “Rihanna deserved album and song of the year because no song on Beyoncé or Adele's album was played more than ‘work’.”
And @findingmalo said: "Most top gospel singers have a better vocal range than Adele & Beyoncé combined. So I guess we can end this debate now."
While another controversially added: "Don't mind them. Justin Bieber is the main person I feel bad for, his album is better than both Beyonce's and Adele."
