Viewers slam The Chase contestants for making this VERY embarrassing blunder
Some even called on the team to be removed from the show immediately
FLABBERGASTED quiz show fans were adamant that a team on The Chase “deserved to lose” after making one silly mistake.
Contestants Rachel, Janice and Hugh were playing for £12,000 in a tense final round.
The quizzers impressed by getting 13 questions correct in just two minutes, but they messed up their chances by making an embarrassing blunder.
Chaser Paul Sinha was asked the question: “The Vicar of Dibley was set in what county?”
After he incorrectly answered “Berkshire”, the contestants were posed the same question.
The team deliberated for a few seconds, before deciding to try their chances at EXACTLY the same answer as the Sinnerman.
Even Bradley was confused by the bizarre answer, as he commented: “That’s wrong, that’s what the Chaser said!”
Viewers were equally baffled as to why the team made the simple mistake, with some questioning if it was the pressure of being on TV.
One asked: “How can so many people be so stupid as to give the same answer the Chaser gives?”
Another added: “THEY GAVE THE SAME ANSWER AS THE CHASER REMOVE THEM FROM THE SHOW AND SHOOT THEM IMMEDIATELY.”
Sadly, the team were caught by brainbox Paul Sinha, so didn’t go home with any of the winnings.
Despite this, some Twitter users confessed that they were PLEASED that the quizzers didn’t scoop the prize fund.
One said: “Giving the same answer as the chaser for a pushback? You don’t deserve to win after that.”
Another agreed: “Anyone watching the Chase?
“Ridiculous to guess the same answer as the chaser has just found out was wrong, deserve to lose now.”
It’s not the first episode of The Chase to leave viewers sitting on the edge of their seats recently.
And another team took on The Governess for £60,000 in a nail-biting final.
