Real Rapunzel who hasn’t cut her 7.5ft hair for 20 years says it’s so long it weighs more than her family CAT and even needs its own space in bed
Aliia Nasyrova, 27, said she regularly gets online abuse for her long longs
A REAL-LIFE Rapunzel has hair so long that her husband thinks of it as another member of the family.
Aliia Nasyrova, 27, who lives in Riga, Latvia, took 20 years to grow out her hair, which measures 90 inches to the floor - and even has its own space in bed.
Weighing in at 4.5lbs, Aliia says her lengthy locks place considerable strain on her shoulders.
She said: “My hair is so heavy, I would compare it to the weight of my cat."
Originally from Samara in Russia, take a whole day to air dry and an hour to comb through fully.
And while her massive mane attracts stares when out in public, her husband Ivan Balaban loves it and is proud of her for not cutting it.
Ivan sees his wife’s hair as another family member, even if it does limit his space to stretch out in the marital bed.
He said: “I am always cuddling up to the wall to give more space for hair, so there is no way I can damage it accidentally, mix them up or harm it any other way.

“I always talk to the braid respectfully. Sometimes I ask it to move a bit."
The couple even have to schedule their holidays around Aliia’s haircare needs.
Ivan added: “When we are going away to somewhere we always plan the entire day for it since we understand that otherwise we will lose one day from our vacation and we will have to sit inside at home."
Aliia was inspired to start growing her hair by the female characters in fairy tales like Rapunzel - whose hair was so long that the prince could climb up it to rescue her from the witch’s castle.
She said: “I started to grow my hair because since childhood I liked long hair very much. And I was always attracted by long hair heroines from fairy tales.”
Such long hair requires a lot of upkeep and Aliia’s combs, shampoos and conditioners weigh more than 22 pounds.
She said: “Since my hair is longer than my height, sometimes I step on it at home. And outside I never go out with flowing hair.”
And while Aliia’s husband Ivan adores her hair, not everyone online is so appreciative.
She said: “In social networks and on Instagram I often receive messages from people who don’t like the length of my hair or my hair itself, but I do not react to it.
“Some people write ‘cut it, sell it or get rid of it.’"
Aliia is able to keep her haircare costs to a minimum as she gets sent a lot of free products and trims her hair once a month to remove any split ends.
She said: “They worst thing ever tangled in my hair was some chewing gum.
"Once in my childhood when I was in theatre someone left gum in my hair, it was a tragedy.
“I had to cut out a clump of hair to get rid of this gum, because it was very difficult.”
And despite the challenges of life with ultra-long hair, Aliia has no plans to chop her flowing locks any time soon.
She said: “I don’t have a dream to get in Guinness Record Book since I believe the current registered record for longest hair is more than five metres, but I think I have longest hair in Latvia.”
The long-haired beauty isn't the only person to be inspired by the Disney character.
Dashik Gubanova Freckle has been growing her hair for 13 years and refuses to cut it off.
Meanwhile Aaron Fernando boasts hair over four feet long and faced being bullied out of school.
