IT was one of the biggest shows of the early Noughties.
Dawson’s Creek followed the lives of four friends living through the trials of their teenage years in the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts.
After the cult drama wrapped in 2003, the likes of Katie Holmes, Michelle Williams and Joshua Jackson became permanent fixtures in the media thanks to their very colourful personal lives.
Here, we reveal the mixed fates of the cast.
JAMES VAN DER BEEK
He played the show’s floppy-haired, hopelessly romantic title lead Dawson Leery.
James Van Der Beek’s heartthrob looks quickly propelled him into People’s 50 Most Beautiful People gallery – as well as on the walls of thousands of teen girls around the world.
Now 40, James has enjoyed an illustrious acting career starring in Labour Day, The Rules of Attraction and Texas Rangers, as well as making a cameo in Scary Movie, for which he won an award.
He has also starred Ugly Betty, How I met Your Mother, One Tree Hill and CSI: Cyber.
James married actress Heather McComb in 2003 but they split in 2009.
He now has four children with business consultant Kimberley Brook, whom he married in 2010.
James Van Der Beek recently left This Morning fans cringing following an “awkward” interview with hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
KATIE HOLMES
Joey Potter was the tomboy pal of Dawson.
The role brought Katie Holmes worldwide fame and she was nominated for five Teen Choice Awards as well as bagging the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine.
Katie dated co-star Joshua Jackson as well as actor Chris Klein before hooking up with Tom Cruise in 2005.
The pair got engaged just seven weeks after meeting and she began studying Scientology.
Katie gave birth to the couple’s daughter Suri in 2006.
Unfortunately TomKat wasn’t to last and Katie filed for divorce in 2012.
The 38-year-old has starred in Batman Begins, Phone Booth and Jack and Jill, which she was nominated a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress.
JOSHUA JACKSON
Pacey Witter’s relationship with Joey had viewers swooning at their TV screens – but his most memorable storyline was when he had an affair with his teacher.
Joshua Jackson won three Teen Choice Awards for his role as the charming stud.
The 38-year-old started dated German actress Diana Kruger in 2006 but sadly ended their relationship in 2016, after 10 years together.
In 2002, Joshua was arrested at an ice hockey game after a row with a security guard and was charged with assault and being intoxicated.
He agreed to attend an alcohol education programme and to perform 25 hours of community service in order to have the charge dropped.
Joshua is most famous for starring as Peter Bishop in Fringe and Cole Lockhart in The Affair.
MICHELLE WILLIAMS
Michelle Williams played happy-go-lucky bad girl Jen Lindley.
In 2004 she starred in Brokeback Mountain where she started dating Australian actor Heath Ledger.
The following year she gave birth to the couple’s first child, daughter Matilda Rose.
In 2007 the couple decided to amicably end their three-year relationship.
Fiercely-private Michelle released a statement expressing her heartbreak in 2008 after Health died from a combined drug intoxication.
Michelle has enjoyed a glittering actor career starring in My Week with Marilyn, Disney’s Oz the Great and Powerful and Manchester By The Sea, for which she was nominated for an Oscar.
Michelle is also the face of Louis Vuitton handbags.
KERR SMITH
Jack McPhee wasn’t a main character but was still considered to be part of the gang.
Kerr Smith played the openly gay student who became famous for being the first man to kiss another man on network TV in the US.
Kerr, 45, has enjoyed numerous small screen roles, starring in Agents of SHIELD, NCIS, CSI: NY and The Fosters.
He is a certified pilot, enjoys motorcross and co-owns the Venice Beach Beer Company, which he founded with a pal in 2009.
