THE CHASE viewers were up-in-arms this afternoon when they thought Bradley Walsh incorrectly told a contestant that they had given the wrong answer.

Fans of the show thought Barbara had been asked by Bradley to name the nut that can be found inside a Ferrerro Rocher, to which she gave the answer “hazelnut”.

The 56-year-old host told Barbara she had given an incorrect answer, and provided her with the correct answer: almond.

Viewers were convinced that the player had been robbed of the £1,000 cash and demanded answers.

Fans of the show launched their own individual investigations to get to the bottom of the nutty debacle.

One infuriated tweeter said: "It's a hazelnut in a ferrero! I huff at your almond answer.”

While another concurred: “The Ferrero Rocher website say it's a hazelnut not an almond, you've got it wrong - give her more money!"

A third disgruntled viewer said: "It's a hazelnut in the centre of a Ferrero Rocher, not an almond, cheats."

Another added: “Ferrero Rocher consists of a whole roasted hazelnut encased in a thin wafer shell filled with hazelnut chocolate."

However, viewers were proven to be mistaken as Bradley actually asked about the filling of a Ferrerro Rafaello rather than a Ferrero Rocher.

While the classic gold-wrapped Ferrero Rochers have a whole hazelnut in the middle, the new Ferrerro Rafaello actually has an almond filing.

Barbara didn’t seem to fazed by the incident and walked away having banked £7,000 in the round.
