One Born Every Minute mum reveals the VERY comical name for her privates as she struggles to cope with the agonising pain of childbirth… while her partner stifles his giggles

CHILDBIRTH is exhilarating, magical, life-altering and, well, pretty damn painful.

A first-time mum who was overwhelmed by agonising contractions left her partner stifling his giggles after she made comical outbursts about the burning sensation 'down there'.

Louise, 30, yelled “My Mary’s on fire!” - the hilarious slang term for her privates - as she bounced on a gym ball to try and induce her labour on the latest episode of Channel 4’s One Born Every Minute.

“My Mary! I feel like it’s going to prolapse,” she screamed at boyfriend Andy, 31.

“Let’s make the baby come out. My Mary’s on fire. I think this will make something happen.”

Olwen, a health care assistant at Liverpool Women's Hospital and Andy’s step-mum, walked out of the maternity room in fits of laughter.

Louise's outburst also had viewers at home in giggles, with fans taking to Twitter to share their amusement.

In the programme, Louise revealed she’s “from a big family” and has always dreamed about becoming a mum.

“My sisters fell pregnant when they were 18 and 19,” she told the camera.

“It’s taken us six years to get to where we are now. I remember every day of those six years.”

Four years ago Louise suffered an ectopic pregnancy and was then left heartbroken after she had a miscarriage.

“I nearly lost my life. It was very serious,” she said.

“We fell pregnant a year later, we went for our 12 week scan and we were told there was no heartbeat.

“I remember looking at Andy and thinking, ‘We won’t be parents’, and it’s what we wanted the most.”

They started IVF and six months later - during their second round of treatment - were overjoyed to discover they were going to have a baby.

Louise said: “Being a mum means everything to me. I’ve brought my nieces up. I’m just so close to them.

“Just being able to give somebody else all the love. I give it to Andy but this is a different kind of love.

“But I can’t imagine what that pain is going to be like.”

During labour, Louise is in so much agony that she decides to have an epidural.

“I can’t do it Andy, I can’t. The pain is unbearable," she said through tears.

"I’ve never been in so much pain in all my life."

Andy lovingly guides her through the pregnancy and offers her encouraging words of support.

Gushing afterwards about their relationship, Louise said: “I’d not had any serious relationship before Andy. I was a young girl going out with my friends.

“When I met Andy, he was making sure I was okay, did I want anything…

"Since we’ve found out I was pregnant, he’s reassured me it’s not just me on my own.

“Everyone that knows me knows how much Andy means to me. He’s an old style gentleman.”

Viewers at home were touched by the pair's love for one another.

Louise is overjoyed after giving birth to a daughter called Lily, who weighs 6lbs 6oz.

“It’s taken us six years to get to where we are today. I’ve had an ectopic pregnancy, a miscarriage, two rounds of IVF and we’re finally here,” she said.

“She’s absolutely gorgeous. Holding the baby for the first time will mean everything to me, especially with Andy by my side as well.”

Two days later the pair return to the hospital to register the birth.

When Louise hears a woman screaming in labour, she grabs her privates and jokes: “Argh! My Mary!”
