THE REAL BILLY ELLIOT

Remember Britain’s Got Talent’s ballet boy James Hobley? Here’s what he’s up to now

The autistic dancer was a finalist in BGT six years ago

SIX years ago, autistic ballet dancer James Hobley left the Britain's Got Talent judges gobsmacked with his incredible moves.

Then the 11-year-old stole the nation's hearts, when he explained how dancing helped him walk again - after having splints put on both legs.

As another batch of dancers try their luck in this year's talent competition, we've found out what the youngster is doing these days.

Now 17, James is a strapping young lad who is training at London's prestigious English National Ballet School.

It's a three-year course, which James started in September 2015 and is currently half-way through. He previously attended The Hammond School, in Chester.

The school's graduates include Margot Fonteyn's partner Rudolf Nureyev, and students are pretty much guaranteed jobs with top international dance companies.

James, who is from Redcar, near Middlesborough, was just 5ft 4ins when he appeared on BGT. Now he's around 6ft tall.

But that's not the only difference in his looks. James's hair is looking more blonde than white these days.

James, who has a twin brother called George and an older brother called Alex, 24, also says he's gained nearly three stone in muscle.

Since reaching the final of BGT, James has performed at London's O2 Arena and in New York's Times Square.

He is now an ambassador for an autism charity, and opened the World Autism Conference in Spain.

Fabia Cerra appeared on the show in 2009, and she's gone on to forge a film and TV career.
