YouTube stars Lilly Singh and Roman Atwood’s accounts hacked by online hoax group OurMine in ‘the biggest hack in YouTube history’
YouTuber Lilly Singh had her account hacked in the unexpected security breach
YOUTUBERS have a lot to contend with.
The trolling for their looks/opinions/personalities, the accusations of too many adverts in their videos and now the threat of hackers.
Just before the long weekend well-known hacker group OurMine pulled off what they claim is the "largest hack in YouTube history" breaching security on hundreds of channels, including vloggers Lilly Singh, RomanAtwoodVlogs and JustKiddingNews.
The group changed the titles and descriptions of each of their videos to: "Hey, it's OurMine, don't worry we are just testing your security, please contact us for more information."
The accounts affected were all associated with German media network Studio71, which hosts more than 1,200 channels.

The hack was quickly noticed on social media with tweeter Evan Edinger writing: "Yooo so many YouTubers are being hacked right now, y'all best change your passwords PRONTO."
It's not the first time group OurMine have caused havoc on social media.
At the end of last year Britney Spears fell victim to a sick death hoax when the trolls hacked her Twitter account.
While last summer they embarrassed Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg by hacking his social media and claiming the billionaire used a very simple password to protect his online accounts.
