ENDORSE REMORSE

From Kris Jenner’s incontinence pads to Cheryl’s National Lottery campaign, these are the most cringe-worthy celebrity endorsements

MADE in Chelsea star Louise Thompson has been unveiled as the new face of George at Asda’s new swimwear collection this week.

It seems an odd choice seeing as the reality star is usually more at home in designer dresses clutching a Prada handbag (and we doubt she’ll be swanning off to the Maldives in an £8 cossie from Asda this summer).

So we’ve come up with a rundown of the oddest celeb brand collaborations of the past decade.

From Kris Jenner becoming the face of female incontinence to Jessie J shamelessly plugging cheesy biscuits, sometimes even we’re shocked at the depths some celebs will sink to for cash. (Although we’d probably sell our souls for an eye-watering pay cheque this close to payday).

Warning: Be prepared for a total cringe-fest.

Millie Mackintosh

She models herself as a high-end fashionista, but back in 2014 the former reality star, 27, became the face of teen jewellery chain Claire’s.

Don’t get us wrong we love Claire’s for picking up some cheap chunky necklaces and aluminous bracelets for festival season, but it’s a world away from Millie’s usual jewellery tastes (which scream spoilt heiress rather than tween disco raver).

We wonder if they gave her ear piercing discounts too?

Ashley Cole and Cheryl

Ashley Cole and Cheryl starred in the National Lottery campaign in 2000

She’s made some bad decisions over the years but none can match singer Cheryl’s cringe-inducing campaign for the National Lottery in 2006.

Appearing in what looks like a dress we’d have worn aged 16 to a school prom, next to her ex-husband, Ashley Cole, as smoke drifts around their feet, they’re supposed to be in lottery heaven. To us, it looks more like the set of a Wham music video.

Serious #cringe.

Ozzy Osbourne

WENN
The rock god casually starred in an I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter TV ad

The Prince of Darkness, 68, was once the face of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter.

Yes, the man who once bit the head off a live bat during a stage performance endorsed a butter substitute (while baking cakes).

We can’t believe it’s not fake news.

Jessie J

For reasons unknown, Jessie stars as a majorette in the ad

Singer Jessie J surprised us all in 2015 by announcing her love for Tuc biscuits on Twitter.

The Bang Bang singer tweeted: “Before any performance I always have a healthy snack. What are your tips for staying on top form?” Along with a photo of her brandishing the cracker treats.

For reasons that are still unclear, she was also dressed as a majorette in the snap.

Looks like Tuc biscuits aren’t the only cheesy thing about this celeb endorsement….

Kris Jenner

Kris Jenner is very open about her bladder issues on KUWTK

She’s so open in fact, that she starred in Poise incontinence pads’ Great Women in History campaign

Only Kris Jenner could wet herself on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and come out of it with an multi-thousand pound endorsement deal.

In 2011 the Kardashian matriarch did exactly that after becoming the face of Poise pads for urinary incontinence.

In the ad she announces: “Like millions of women I have my own experiences with LBL [Light Bladder Leakage] but I never let it keep me from living life to the fullest.”

We hope the paycheck was worth it.

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah tweeted in support of Surface… but from her iPad

Who can forget the time Oprah, 63, was the face of Microsoft’s new tablet Surface, but they couldn’t actually get her to use one?

The talk show host infamously tweeted: “Gotta say love that SURFACE! Have bought 12 already for Christmas first #FavouriteThings.” But from her iPad. Oh Oprah.

Shout out to the frenemies she bought a tablet for that clearly wasn’t good enough for herself.

Anthea Turner

There was no such thing as an inconvenient time for Anthea to eat a Flake…

Nicknamed Flakegate, back in 2000 TV presenter Anthea, 56, became the victim of ridicule after promoting Cadbury’s during her wedding to Grant Bovey (they’ve now split – sob) by chomping on their new Snowflake bar.

The cringe-inducing pics were splashed all over the tabloids and it was later revealed she was paid £450,000 for the PR stunt.
