Dress to impress

Bride-to-be rates five wedding dresses… so would YOU have known they’re all from the high street?

Stacey said she would have paid £800 for a £325 Phase Eight dress but was disappointed with a £150 Asos.com number

GONE are the days of wedding dresses costing a fortune.

The high street is really stepping up its game when it comes to giving brides-to-be an affordable option for the big day.

But is it for you?

Luckily, Fabulous' Senior Sub-Editor, Stacey, is in the market for the perfect dress and has done the hard work for us.

We removed the labels of five under-£500 high street wedding dresses and asked Stacey how much she would pay for each. Here's how she got on...

Actual price: £150, Asos.com

Stacey's verdict: "To me, this didn’t feel like a wedding dress – it was more like something you’d wear as a guest. The fabric felt quite flimsy and cheap, which is why I thought it was less expensive than it was."
