Bizarre beauty craze of ‘gritting’ promises to rid you of all blackheads… but can YOU stomach it?
Experts have warned that the new trend could cause skin sensitivity
BEAUTY addicts are following a quick three-step method to rid their skin of blackheads.
"Gritting" is a pore-reducing trick, which is supposed to bring rough skin debris to the surface.
To exfoliate the face and draw out the blackheads, Reddit posters have recommended cleaning the skin with an oil-based cleanser.
After removing the residue, they advise applying a clay mask.
Next, the skincare community wash off the product and buff a second batch of oil cleanser into the skin.
Fans of the trend claim that this should be enough to bring the blackheads, known as grits, out of the skin.
And they sure have managed to get a lot of sebaceous filaments out of the skin - but the pictures aren't for the faint-hearted.
