Love Island’s Marcel admits lying to get out of ‘woman trouble’ in hilarious old Blazin’ Squad interviews as a teen
The 31-year-old musician hasn’t made much of an impact on the Love Island ladies - despite his pop idol past
HILARIOUS vintage interviews from Marcel Somerville’s time in Blazin’ Squad have been uncovered.
The 31-year-old musician, known to fans as Rocky B, confessed to “lying a lot” in the old footage, and revealed how he got his rapper nickname.

Marcel, who is currently appearing on ITV2’s Love Island, became the butt of Twitter jokes earlier this week after struggling to keep his pop music days a secret from his fellow reality show contestants.
During an interview with the now-defunct T4 show in the early Noughties, Marcel was asked by host Simon Amstell: “When was the last time you lied?”
Looking coy, he confessed: “Probably a couple of days ago or something. I don’t actually know but I lie quite a lot to get out of trouble.”

When asked to clarify what he meant by “trouble”, he said: “Women trouble and that.”
Poor Marcel was the first guy to meet the ladies on Love Island – but the last to get a date.
Despite his confidence, he’s hasn’t made much of an impact and his partner Olivia is already looking at other lads.
It’s a world away from Marcel’s chart-topping days when a host of glamorous women used to fight over him on tour.

Commenting on the pitfalls of fame, he revealed: “It is a bit weird, cos some people who I haven't seen in ages have been ringing me.
“I have to ask them why they're speaking to me, cos they weren't interested before I was in Blazin' Squad. I guess we'll have to put up with a lot of that.”

In a separate chat with the , Marcel confessed was dubbed ";Rocky" because he loves the American sports-drama films.
Modest Marcel described himself as “mature” and “epic” during a chat with , and said “people should spend their hard-earned cash on our music because it’s great”.
