But it hasn’t stopped scores of cheeky folk posing for pictures with their behinds on show – making it the hottest day of the rear.
The overheated men and women ditched their clothing as the mercury soared.

One exhibitionist lifted her black skirt in Queen Mary's Rose Garden, in London, and an admirer commented: "Roses and now a peach..."
One more said: "One more perfect picture!! Awesome."
Two blondes stripped completely on a country walk with their dog while four pals squeeze their cheeks into an open window frame in the capital.
The images were posted on Instagram account which has so far attracted 231,000 followers.
One punter said: "People who follow this account for only women's butts, or perfect airbrushed butts, are not at all in the spirit of cheeky exploits!
"I'd like to see you haters have the guts to show yours!"
The account has posted over 300 snaps from all over the world - including the US, Greece, Spain, Hawaii, France and even on a mountain top.
The craze is sparking a race for people to pose in the most unusual public places - underwater, rock climbing and near national landmarks including the Eiffel Tower.
Others pose upside down in a handstand.
And they aren't alone in their endeavours.
Cambridge University students bared all for a skinny dip in the River Cam yesterday as temperatures hit a scorching 88.3F (31.3C).
They shed their ball gowns and tuxedos for a swim in their undies after an all-night party to celebrate the end of their exams.
Two female students were seen frolicking topless in the water as others laid about on punts in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Today has been the hottest June day since 1976 when the mercury reached 96F (35.6C) in Southampton.
The heatwave is due to continue until Friday but the warm weather has sparked growing concern among public health bodies.
The Met Office has already issued its second highest heatwave alert for all of Britain amid fears for the elderly and vulnerable.
The level three amber heatwave warning is one behind a national emergency and will remain in place until Thursday.
The warning is issued when "there is a 90% probability of heatwave conditions".
Dr Angie Bone, Head of Public Health England's Extreme Events team, said: "Spells of hot weather like this are enjoyed by many of us, but they can make a very real impact on some people’s health.
"That’s why it’s so important we all keep an eye on those likely to be most at risk, people with underlying heart and lung conditions, older people and those with younger children. If you’re able, ask your friends, family and neighbours if they need any support."
