Why white bridesmaid dresses are the next big wedding trend of 2017
It's a taboo to wear white to a wedding, but more and more brides are opting to dress their closest girlfriends in the forbidden colour
WE all know it's bad etiquette to wear white to a wedding, but more and more brides are actually opting to dress their best pals in the forbidden colour.
Clearly not worried about being outshined on their big day, ladies are breaking with tradition and dressing their bridesmaids in white.
Earlier this month, Towie star Chloe Lewis shared an image of her white bridesmaid dress on Instagram.
The image has racked up more than 43,000 likes, and lots of impressed comments.
Alix Wood wrote: "Spotted these the other day lovely aren't they! I think I quite like the white a bit different not many people would go for white bridesmaid dresses but they are stunning!"
And Petronella Edwardzon added: "Beautiful! You wear those dresses perfectly".
Chloe's friend Lucy far from the only one to opt for white.
Model Cara Delevingne was among the white-wearing bridesmaids at sister Poppy's wedding in May 2014.
Poppy's bold decision to dress her sister in the Chanel gown prompted Vogue to write an article called .
It reads: "It’s a long-standing rule that female guests should never wear white to a wedding.
"Yet a couple of recent high-profile weddings have seen a crop of chic young things sporting the forbidden shade as maids of honor... (and) make white seem right."

Kate Moss also opted to dress her troop of bridesmaids and flower girls in white when she tied the knot with Jamie Hince, in July 2011.
And, of course, Pippa Middleton threatened out outside bride Kate with her stunning white maid of honour dress, custom-made by Alexander McQueen, at the Royal Wedding in April 2011.
A quick search on Pinterest shows that the trend is very fashionable right now - with hundreds of brides-to-be pinning related images.
But, despite this, the most popular colour of 2017 is a dusky pink.
