In March, Primark’s £4 Chip pouch sold out in stores across Britain, and frantic mums were paying up to five times the price on eBay to get their hands on the elusive Disney memorabilia.

The adorably cute purse was selling for up to £20 on the online auction site.

The brilliantly impractical coin holder comes in the shape of the famous tea cup, featured a zip fastening around the rim and a gold handle.

The must-have item sparked a frenzy online with Disney-obsessives dubbing the craze “Chipgate”.
