Who is in the Wimbledon 2017 royal box for the final? From Kate Middleton and Prince William to Eddie Redmayne and Hugh Grant

THE royal box has the best seats at Wimbledon and is reserved for members of the royal family and invited guests of the All England Club.

It's always full of famous faces from the world of showbiz and high society. Here's who you can expect to see in the royal box during the Wimbledon 2017 final...

What is the royal box at Wimbledon?

Perched above Centre Court, the royal box is reserved for use by the Royal Family and other distinguished guests who want to watch the tennis during the Wimbledon Championships.

Each day there is space for 74 guests to take their place on the dark green Lloyd Loom wicker chairs.

The box is home to the best seats on Centre Court and on the middle Saturday of the tournament, All England Club chairman Philip Brook traditionally invites guests from the world of sport.

Anybody who is invited to watch the tennis from the royal box must stick to a strict dress code that includes a demure dress for ladies and a jacket, tie and proper shoes for men.

How can you get a ticket to sit in the royal box at Wimbledon?

There are no tickets on sale for the royal box and guests have to be invited by the All England Club.

Each year, there is an open invitation to all of the Royal Family as well as high ranking members of the government, armed forces and the church - including the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Also encouraged to attend are ambassadors, diplomats and members of foreign royal families and senior figures from the media world.

It is believed that the All England Club and the Lawn Tennis Association take suggestions on who would be suitable to ask to attend.

Who will we see in the royal box at Wimbledon 2017?

As they are some of the most prestigious seats in sport, you can be sure the royal box will be full of famous faces again during the 2017 tournament.

One person who will definitely making an appearance is the Duchess of Cambridge, who is the patron of the All England Tennis Club.

Kate has already been pictured in the box on the first day of The Championships.

Sitting behind Kate for the opening Centre Court clash between Andy Murray and Alexander Bublik was Mamma Mia! actor Dominic Cooper.

Also spotted in the royal box during the first week of the championship was David Beckham and his mum Sandra, who shared a joke with US Vogue editor Anna Wintour as they took thier seats. Other famous guests include comedian Stephen Fry and TV personality Vernon Kay.

And Kate's sister Pippa has been spotted in the box this year after making a series of appearances in previous additions – she was joined by her brother, James.

Their parents Michael and Carole Middleton were also seen in the royal box during the first week of this year's championships.

The Middleton family are keen tennis fans, with the Duchess of Cambridge previously speaking about her excitement at meeting superstar Roger Federer.

Caught watching Andy Murray against Sam Querrey was Dame Maggie Smith, Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Mark Rylance, Sir Chris Hoy.

Watching hugely anticipated Johanna Konta semi-final are Dame Shirley Bassey and golfer Paul Casey.

It is unknown who else will be invited during the fortnight, but some celebrities seem to pop up in the premier enclosure year after year.

For the final, Hollywood star Bradley Cooper and British stars Hugh Grant and Eddie Redmayne were in attendance with the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.

Previous stars to grace the box include Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch and of course singer Sir Cliff Richard.
