Your kids will love these fun and healthy Moana-themed snacks
Disney’s Moana is available now on Sky Cinema. In association with Sky Cinema where you can see a New Premiere Every day
DISNEY'S Moana, available now on Sky Cinema, was one of the biggest films to come out last year, and kids all over the country were singing 'How Far I'll Go' on repeat for several months after, meaning that we've had it in our heads for months too!
If you missed it in the cinema, don't worry! It's available on Sky Cinema now, along with another brand new premiere every day and loads of family friendly blockbusters available on demand.
The school summer holidays are the perfect time to have a fun family night in, so we've teamed up with Sky Cinema to bring you The Summer of Fun, filled with loads of ideas to take your movie night to the next level.
This week, we're showing you how to make Moana themed movie snacks that are healthy and affordable to make, and will impress your little ones and all of their friends.
Tropical fruit skewers
Moana is set on a tropical pacific island, so this is a great opportunity to get your kids to eat more fruit! Just chop up some pineapple and put bite-size chunks onto skewers, alternating with strawberries and red grapes. If you're feeling extra creative, you can use a pineapple or a watermelon as a stand for them and stick the skewers in like they're fruit trees growing out of an island.
Chicken and pineapple taco boats
In the movie, Moana sets sail to find Maui, the legendary Demi-God, in the hope of saving her people. So why not make an edible boat? Stir fry some mince in vegetable oil along with some peppers and carrots. When it's ready use it to fill a taco boat and top with lettuce and tomatoes. To make the sail, cut a bamboo skewer in half and thread through the corners of a cheese slice (cut in half to make a triangle). Pop the end into the boat and you're ready to set sail!
Island fruit punch
Take equal parts mango juice, cranberry juice and coconut water and swirl into a tall glass with ice. If you want to take it further you could finish with a garnish of pineapple or watermelon, just slit it down the middle and pop it onto the side of the glass, and there you have it, a delicious, fruity punch for your little ones to sip whilst they watch the movie.
You can see Disney's Moana plus a new Premiere every day on Sky Cinema this Summer.
