HAVING NONE OF IT

Teen Mom UK’s new star Sassi Simmons, 18, claims having a baby has ruined her sex life

The former party girl and latest addition to the MTV reality show cast says being a mum has held her back in some respects - but it's also given her a 'kick up the bum'

HAVING a baby can often put a strain on relationships, but for Teen Mom UK star Sassi Simmons, it's had a devastating impact on her sex life.

The 18-year-old from Stockport is the latest addition to the cast of the popular MTV reality show, which returns for a second series next week.

Sassi admitted that since giving birth to baby Zena’ya she no longer wants to have sex, which causes a lot of arguments between her and partner-of-four-years Darren.

She explained: "I feel like, before I had the baby I really enjoyed sex, I really did enjoy having sex with him, but now I feel like I just don’t want to do it. I don’t know why.

"I actually don’t know what it is; obviously I’m tired, but it’s not that. I really don’t know what it is."

Sassi told how she had a "difficult" pregnancy which nearly spelt the end for her and Darren.

"I thought we were going to split up," she admitted. "I thought, I can’t cope with you.

"He was still going out, still doing everything, while I was at home pregnant and bored.

"But now he’s an amazing dad to Zena’ya – the only thing he’s bad at is getting up in the night.

"We do argue about that, but he loves her so much, he’s such a proud dad."

The teen admitted that before becoming a mum she was a wild child who loved going out, but having a baby has changed her.

She said: "I was so wild before, I lived for the party.

"All my friends are still going out doing that, and when they’re ringing me going, ‘Do you want to come here, do you want to go there’, I have that sense of guilt.

"But I can’t just go and do what I used to do, because the next morning it’s not fair if I’m lying on the sofa feeling rough, and she’s screaming and I just can’t be bothered with it.

"I do miss my partying, when I see all my friends in Magaluf having a great time.

"In some respects I feel like, yeah I really want to do it, but Zena’ya’s the best thing that’s happened to me, so I wouldn’t change it.

"Having a baby has held me back in some respects, but in others it’s given me a kick up the bum."

During the show Sassi, a former call centre worker, embarks on a new career in the construction industry.

She explained: "It’s something a bit different, it’s something new. I’m managing it well, but it’s hard because I know if I got a job somewhere else I’d be earning a lot more than I do now as I'm an apprentice.

"But it’s something I do want to stick at and pursue. I’m going to try hard to do it, but at the same time it’s not going to pay the bills at the minute, it’s not enough to pay for the childcare.

"I’m in a catch 22 and I’m finding that really hard."

She admitted she is "nervous" about how viewers will take to her fiery character.

"There are a few scenes where I come across as quite strong minded and a bit harsh," she said.

"But that’s just the person I am, and I’m not going to pretend to be someone I’m not and a bit softer just because I’m on TV. I am worried."

Last week we told how Teen Mom star Megan Salmon-Ferrari, who became a parent for the second time in April, claims she has taken to motherhood like a "duck to water".

Teen Mom UK 2 premieres Wednesday 26 July at 8pm, only on MTV.
