WTF
GOING FOR GOLD

First it was black, now it’s GOLD! Bizarre fashion craze now sees women going out in nothing but shiny metallic duct tape

The eye-catching look was masterminded by the Black Tape Project, a US firm who 'tape up' models to attend events in the racy style

IT started with black duct tape... now revellers are going out clubbing and hitting the beach wearing nothing but tiny GOLD pieces of strategically-placed tape.

The bizarre trend involves cutting up pieces of tape by hand and artfully placing them around the body - covering up any intimate areas.

Brave Sun girl Deni Kirkova, 25, from London, tried it out for a night out at a bar in London earlier this year and said wearing the tape made her feel supported, strong and sexy.

The fearless fashion was spearheaded by Joel Alvarez, a designer from Miami, who launched an “artistic” venture called the .

Now he's moved away from the matte black tape to shiny gold - and it's certainly an eye-catching look.

For the first time, Joel took his trend to the beaches of the Maldives, where holidaymakers were shocked to see the gold-clad models.

He uploaded snaps of the shoot to his Instagram page, which has notched up 236,000 followers, where many ogled at the stunning outfits.

Many commented on the striking pictures, with one writing: "I can’t get over the perfection of all of your projects. You are insanely talented!"
