Internet sensation Dr Sandra Lee has 2.7 million viewers who watcher her pus-busting videos
MILLIONS of internet fans have tuned in to watch Dr Pimple Popper explode gross pus-filled spots and cysts online.
But now the dermatologist, real name Dr Sandra Lee, has shared her tips for dealing with your own skin eruptions – and says you should NOT pop your pimples.
She told the: “Don't pop your pimples - there is a danger there as you run the risk of infection.”
But if you can’t resist squeezing that spot, it’s all about the timing.
She added: “I do think it's important to note, though, that there is a perfect time to pop them if you are going to do so and this is when there is a head - or pustule - on the pimple.
“This is because all the pus is at the surface and ready to escape.”
She said that squeezing a zit too soon will leave you with a worse one, which is redder, more swollen and more painful.
She said: “With pimples the best thing to do is to just use a warm compress on them and be patient.”
If you suffer from acne as an adult, the doctor recommends seeing a dermatologist as it could be down to your hormones.
She said: “The thing with adult acne is that it is hormonal and that's why more women experience it than men and it happens often during our cycle.
“There are triggers though and stress can exacerbate it. Diet also plays a small role but not so much - I always say that pizza won't cause you to get pimples unless you pick the pizza up and rub it all over your face.”

The US-based dermatologist said that a common mistake many make is washing their faces too often or too hard.
Using too many cleansing, toning and moisturiser products can also lead to facial flare-ups.
She said: "The best thing to do is to just cleanse your face at the end of the day to get the dirt, grime and sweat off, you don't need to do anything drastic."
She also suggested that the older you get, the less products you should use on your skin, as it loses the elasticity and natural oils which help it bounce back.
Dr Pimple Popper, whose channel has a loyal following of more than 2.7 million people, says she started posting her gross videos online as a social experiment but added that her new found fame sometimes freaks her out.
She said: “I've had people cry when they see me and I just don't see myself as special or a celebrity. It's so weird and still something I have to get used to.”
