Remember when Corrie hunk Ben Price who plays Nick Tilsley was in Footballers Wives? These pictures are so Noughties it hurts

NICK Tilsley has had his fair share of ups and down on the cobbles with brain damage, quicksand and Leanne Battersby to contend with.

But things weren't much simpler for actor Ben Price before he starting pounding the pavement of Coronation Street.

Who remembers the soap hunk during his stint in cult drama Footballers Wives?

In series three and four of the classic show Conrad Gates - played by Ben - went through a series of testing times that would make even Nick Tilsley's head spin.

His brief marriage to Amber broke down when he cheated with legendary character Tanya Turner (played by Zoe Lucker).

Conrad was also a fan of the fella, cheating with teammate Noah and another fella while he was on holiday in Spain.

In season four things got dramatically worse for him as he was accused of raping someone.

He then got engaged to Tanya  but sent her packing when he discovered she had switched her baby with Amber's at birth.

Conrad finally rekindled his romance with wife Amber  only to be accidentally shot by teammate Bruno.

Did you keep up with all that? No us neither.

But we did particularly enjoy the VERY 00s pictures from the programme, showing Ben in a series of questionable outfits and sporting some rather fetching frosted tips.

For those who don't know (where were you?) Footballers' Wives was a British drama revolving around fictional Premier League football club Earls Park F.C., it's players and their wives.

The show featured a number of controversial - and occasionally far fetched - storylines including drug abuse, love triangles and murder.

It was originally broadcast on ITV between January 2002 and April 2006 but rumour has it the epic series will return.
